So, if you didn’t already know, I am obsessed with the Showtime series DEXTER. Now in it’s sixth season, which premiered last night. In honor of the new season, I hosted a party and turned my den into Dexter’s “Kill Room”, an edible kill room. I made a body cake, and hung plastic wrap up with pictures of Dexter’s most important kills. Below is some photos for you to check out, and the cake recipe.

gimme a hand… Dexter
September 2nd, 2011by Scott Ingenito
For those of you who like the hit Showtime series DEXTER, this post will be familiar to you… For those of you, like me, who are obsessed with the show, I hope you enjoy reading this post as much as I enjoyed writing it.
Season 1 of DEXTER (based off the first book DARKLY DREAMING DEXTER by Jeff Lindsey) focuses on ” The Ice Truck Killer” aka Brian Moser, Dexters real brother. Moser was obsessed with killing his victims and meticulously disecting them, cleanly and preserving them in ice. He is the only one on the show who knows the truth of where, why and how Dexter Morgan is the man he is today. In this season Dexter becomes obsessed with him and finding out more about him, and what he found was shocking.
We bought our friend the Dexter boardgame for his birthday and we play it often, So as a tribute to Season 1 Dexter victim Tony Tucci, on game night my friend Josh & Jennifer made an alcohol Jello mold, into a hand and served it on an ice tray. So delicous. and very appropriate for game night.
Stay tuned for more Dexter themed food posts as Season 6 starts in October. Each week my friends and I will try to top each other with Dexter themed food items and decor.
Ice Truck Killer Jello Hand (alcohol version)
By Jennifer & Josh White
Ingredients
5 gumdrops, assorted flavors
1 Lrg. box of jello – any flavor you enjoy
1 cup boiling water
3/4 c. vodka- SKY is my choice
1 Rubber glove (any kind will work. Just make sure to leave enough material to make a knot in it)
Step 1
Open the box of jello and pour into a medium bowl
Step 2
microwave 1 cup of water for 2 minutes or until it boils and add to the jello powder. Mix until desolved. Allow to cool for about 15 minutes. Add 3/4 c. vodka (have the vodka chilling in freezer while making the jello) and stir again.
Step 3
Place gumdrops in the finger tips (to make it look like the colored finger nails from the show), then fill glove with the jello mixture 3/4 full and refrigerate for about 1 hour. The mixture will gel and they are now ready to slurp. Have fun!
